Teaching Tips & Materials
Take the time to learn the BASICS. The success of your students Mission depends on it! After learning the BASICS, the students will go on their Mission. The OTU Mission is action orientated and consists of 4 specific assignments that will challenge the students’ mental and physical capabilities. All the assignments will require the students to APPLY the information learned during the BASICS in his or her personal life, using the proven text-to-self pedagogical principle. This makes the nutrition and exercise information much more engaging, useful and memorable.
Each participating student receives an interactive Operation Tone-Up workbook to set their personal goals, track progress, and make reminder notes about what they are learning and to measure their success from the OTU Mission. In addition to the workbooks, the students will receive an at HOME COMPONENT that will allow for the family to participate in the program. (Note: The workbooks need to stay in school until the Mission is over. From past experience, if the workbooks go home they do not come back.)
The OTU Teacher’s Manual provides all of the orientation, tips, hand-outs, and tests that you need to teach Operation Tone-Up.
The OTU Exercise DVD and CD provide all of the music, motivation and instruction needed to learn good exercise form and keep exercising. Teachers simply put on the DVD, or the CD with students with good form leading the exercises, and let OTU do the work.
